Overture Bid Tool: Better Search Results Than Google For Shopping?

View Bids

This observation comes from searching for "anxiety". I'm not surprised to see a fair amount of interest, with rates as high as 1.59 and many above 50 cents. And the results are what you would see from a Google search, that is a mix of companies selling drugs, hypnosis, self-help books and so on. But the NIH also factors, showing that at least this one government agency has a dog in this race.

It strikes me that perhaps availing ones eyes to the highest bidder may be a better way of organizing search results, than even Google's method, whatever precisely thay might be. If one is looking for a solution that might be solved through a purchase of some sort, paying attention to those who are willing to pay the most seems logical. Of course, as in any market, there will be those who are all surface and no substance. These hucksters are nearly as easy to spot on the web as they are in the real world, as far as I'm concerned.
